Is stronger than most Western Christians think. I don't know about whether all of the Apocrypha should be considered canon, but where the Masoretic text, written by unbelieving rabbis long after Christ, differs from the Septuagint I give considerable weight to the Septuagint version. The value of the Masoretic text, when it agrees with the Septuagint, is to look at more subtle and exact shades of meaning in the words used.
